Welcome! We are the brand new club for emoticonists! We're here to provide a community for people to show off their emoticon creations, give and take advice from one another, and to develop as emoticonists!

Want to join?

If you want to join the club, just send us a note asking to join! It's simple! However, there are a few conditions for joining:

1. You must have at least 1 emoticon in your gallery
2. Let people know about us! Once you are a member, either put a link to us in your signature by typing : devThe-Emoticon-Club : without the spaces, or display our avatar in your journal by typing : iconThe-Emoticon-Club: without the spaces.
3. Treat the other members of the club with respect, and refrain from violating the Deviant Art policies. The last thing we want is a bad reputation with the admins.
4. Watch the club, so you know when things are updated!

How to submit emoticons to the club
-----------------------------------------

Once you are a member, you can submit your animated or static emoticons by sending a note to the club with a link to your deviation. If for any reason the submission isn't accepted, we'll send you a note explaining why. As well as actual emoticons, tutorials are also accepted, as they can be a very useful addition to the community.

Our first competition has had some high-quality entries, and our member number is steadily growing! I think it's safe to say that The Emoticon Club has taken shape, and it's all thanks to you guys and gals supporting us and submitting your emoticons! Thanks everyone!

The Emoticon Club now has an official forum! Its purpose is to make TEC better for all of its members, and I hope a lot of you utilise it. It gives the club an opportunity an opportunity to grow and create a close community of members. Enjoy! Here's the link: [link]

Competition

Ok, it's time to announce our winner! For those who are not up to date with the contest, the challenge was to create a helpful tutorial for newbie emoticonists to make static emotes. I've considered the entries, and it was very close at the top! It took me a while to decide on the winner!

Anyway, I'll get right to it. The winner was...... *drum roll*....... ~Azundo !! Congratulations to you, and to all of you, the quality of the entries was great. As promised, the winning entry will now have a permanent link in our journal for all to see!

FAVOURITES! I left a note in our journal asking people to add favourites on the original pages of our emoticons, not ont he club's pages. This was due to a huge number of favourites in the wrong place, creating extra work for us as we noted everyone whenever they got a favourite. Well, this hasn't helped. We still get a lot of favourites in the wrong place, and it's getting rediculous. The more watchers we get, the more these favourites happen. The description clearly states where favourites should be left, and we even include a link! Anyway, due to the large amount of favourites, we will no longer be noting members recieving them until further notice. If the problem gets better, we will probably start doing it again.

Thanks to all those who replied to the 'comments and suggestions' note that I sent out the feedback was helpful

Sorry for the lull in submissions recently both mish and I are back at school/college so internet time has become a little bit more limited so if your emotes aren't submitted for a while you know why. The submissions are up to date at the moment [due to being a weekend] the submission delay shouldn't be more than a couple of days though - sorry for any inconvenience this causes!
